Digital X-Rays is one of many exciting innovations in dentistry in recent years. In the old days, your dentist would expose a film, then process the film and after about 6 minutes you get a tiny x-ray image that you need to look at on a light box. Those days are long gone. Now we can take an image and it is immediately available for viewing on any computer in the office. Not only that, but we can lighten or darken the image, increase or decrease the contrast, enlarge the image, or perform one of several other functions designed to improve the picture to allow us to get more information out of the x-ray. We can print out copies of the x-ray, save them to disk or e-mail them to your insurance company. Its quicker, more environmentally friendly and safer for the patient because it requires less radiation to expose the image. Ask us to show you how digital x-rays work and how it helps us to better serve our patients. |
